In the fall of 1998, the project was completed to the first coat of stucco and the interior upstairs liveable. The original cinder block cabin consisted of just the lower left window and everything at that level to the left. That fall I injured my knee, and surgery laid me up till well into January. The finish stucco was completed at the end of the next summer, and I was moved up into the loft. It was several years before I was freely mobile enough to go any further with the project. The kitchen was incomplete till the spring of 2000. Total project time: 100 days and $11,000 - about $40/square foot figuring in my time at about $8/hr.
