Just on the north side of the earth cooled vegetable locker, 100 feet of 4" tubing is buried 2 feet deep in the shade of the building. This tubing is used to draw air from outside during any cool evening or winter days. In the process, many tons of soil "store" the cold underground. The cold air entering the vegetable locker is thus tempered to refrigeration levels for half the year without the use of refrigeration.
