The last fitting is a male adapter, and it is screwed through the plywood mounting plate just enough to provide a sharp edge for the flap to seal against. Air goes in, can't come out. When the blower is off, the skins remain inflated. This reduces blower on-time to 2 hours in 24, rather than 24/7.
