The adjusting end of the beam has a piece of heat shrink tubing slid over it and flamed snug. It allows the stainless steel balance nuts to be hand turned onto the end without having to machine any threads. Only the first and last nut thread - use 8-32's here. The rest of the nuts are just ballast and do not thread. Use 10-32's for them. By changing the position and the number of ballast nuts, you can change the frequency of the misting cycles. By changing the angle of the folds in the mesh, you control the duration of the mist. Moving the nearest mister nozzle offers some adjustment control as well. Make sure you mount the unit out of the drip zone of the building or nearby plants.
