For super insulation, nothing beats the cost of
strawbale. While strawbale walls in a greenhouse often
proves too problematic at the design stage, it can be
implemented if the critical issues are addressed in the
structure.
- minimize vapor and condensation in the bales (the
SHCS manages vapor by condensing it underground)
- allow for free ventilation on the exterior side of
the bales
- prevent any free water from entering bales
- monitor bale moisture content, interior and
exterior, especially at the base and tops
